1 Request:


1.1 Summary

The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians (GTB, Grand Traverse Band) Family Health Clinic is requesting proposals from MEDICAL CLAIMS BILLING SERVICE PROVIDERS interested in providing medical billing claims services for our Family Health Clinic, for patients that are seen at the GTB Family Health Clinic, a Tribal Health Clinic and FQHC.

1.2 Background

The GTB service area for the delivery of federal and Tribal services encompass six counties that include Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, and Manistee. There are 4192 Grand Traverse band tribal members, of which 1966 members and their dependents reside on the reservation lands or within the Service Area.

1.3 Project Site

The GTB Family Health Clinic is located at 2300 N Stallman Road, Suite A in Peshawbestown, MI., Medicine Lodge.

1.4 Scope of Services

  1. Provide MEDICAL CLAIMS BILLING SERVICES for the GTBFHC.
    • Billing
    • Submission to Primary Payors
    • Accounts Receivable
    • Submission to Secondary Payors
    • Patient Billing
    • Claims Processing
    • Reporting-patient and payor aging report
    • HIPAA Compliant

1.5 Qualifications

  1. Medical Claims Processing and Benefits experience
  2. Maintains Error and Omission Coverage
  3. Fidelity Bonded
  4. Technology Systems that are HIPAA compliant
  5. Experienced with the IHCIA and Tribal Health Clinics

2 Submission Requirements

2.1 General Bid Form

Each vendor must submit a cover letter, resume, and bid. The proposal should be printed on 8½ x 11-inch paper and include an expected hourly rate. An attached resume shall include qualifications and past experiences.

2.2 Evaluation Procedure

Proposals will be evaluated by GTB Health care staff based upon the qualifications, past experiences, and cost. In addition, an interview may follow for clarification, experience, and expectations.

2.3 Offer Submission Deadline

To be considered, a bid package must be received by the Grand Traverse Band at the address shown below by March 10, 2025.
